For me, the best part of today was my walk at lunchtime for two reasons; 1) It was so great to get out of the office and actually get some exercise. I have had a pair of shoes at since for two years and today was the first time I have used them in forever! I feel like I conquered something...I hope to keep this up daily, and 2) San Diego really is beautiful. I realize how much I take living here for granted. For some reason, I usually get annoyed when people post pics of a sunset or sun on the bay on FB or otherwise proclaiming how beautiful it is here etc...but today I totally got. Me walking in my work clothes, passing by obvious tourists with their pale skin..made me smile on the inside. I felt like they looked at me and envied me, because this was my view on my lunch break!
The Super Lotto drawing is in 10 minutes...so maybe my day will get even better!!
The best of part of my day started with annoyance! Ha. Cami had taken apart this framed picture Tom had given me for Christmas. As I started to get irritated and tell her not to do that, I realized that Tom had taped a note to the back of the picture, which he hadn't told me about. The note brought tears to my eyes and I was so glad Cami found it for me!! In the note, Tom said how much he loved our little family, but mostly thanked me for making the best out of our bay area living situation. The timing was perfect since I've really been missing you girls and my family after such a great trip to SD. The note was definitely the best part of my day and was just what I needed to remind myself how lucky I am to have my little of family of 3 & good friends we've met here, along with my family & great friends in San Diego. MISS YOU GIRLS!!
ReplyDeleteJen that is so sweet! And Shannon I catch myself not relizing how great this SoCal area is too. I mean how can you not be happy when it is 80 degrees out in January?!
ReplyDeleteHappiest part of my day was when I thought I would add a plop of Ketchup to Hudson's dinner of chicken nuggets, peas, and bread. You see he gets excited to dip things lately, namely when i give him a chip I will put the hummus container down to his level and he loves to put the very itty bitty corner in and dip it in. This is in a controlled environment, however, so I thought I would see how he did with some dippin sauce on his plate. When I put the plate down (suction cupped to the high chair) I showed him how to "dip" the chicken nugget into the ketchup. Well he giggled excitedly and went to town dipping his nuggets and eating them all up! It was so fun and so awesome to watch him. I even tried getting him to dip the peas...but no such luck :(
Shan, I got out and walked for an hour at lunch today too! Was so nice out, although my view wasn't nearly as good as yours.
ReplyDeleteBest part of my day was when I got home from the grocery store tonight, I was getting ready to make chicken enchies for dinner and Bridgett called, was in the area, so she came over and we hung out and made dinner for Joe. I love having visitors over when I'm not expecting them. Man, how we took for granted having all our friends live walking distance or biking distance in college!
Best part of my day was when I got a phone call from my mom, and it was Kate. She told Grandma that she wanted to call Auntie Annie. I can't handle being a little over an hour from them, but then I think about Jen and Gina and I get over myself.
ReplyDeleteBest part of my day yesterday was when I got home from work and Kyler and I started thinking about wedding venues. It was so fun because we want the same style and it's just been so easy. It was also cute to see how into it he got while I was making dinner. He'll probably be more involved than me!
ReplyDeleteThe best part about my day yesterday was not the fact that it was 15 degrees (yes, Fahrenheit), but rather meeting Lia for a girls wine night. It was good to catch up and try out this new wine bar on the upper east side. Wish we could all do that on the regular.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of my day was having a late night dinner with Josh when he got home from his softball game. We drank wine and watched Two and a Half men and basically had a nice relaxing evening. Nice way to unwind. I must say that the highlight of most of my days is sweet Ashlynn first thing in the morning when she still has her sleepy face. I bring her into my bed and snuggle for as long as the clock will let me.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a 'like' button. I think all of your responses are great. It is nice to hear all of the great things that are going on in your lives. I love you girls.
