This is something I have been thinking about a lot lately, probably because a New Year always brings hopes of new beginnings, new adventures, happiness and success! My mission for 2012 is to sweat 15 times per month, lose the excess weight I have been talking about losing for 10 years, become (almost) debt free, be a better mom, wife and friend. This doesn't sound very deep, but my mission is simple, execution is the hard part! Someone I work with said, "Dreams without action are just hallucinations"..so true!! What's your Mission?

You are such a good writer, Shanny! This is definitely one of the tougher questions... I feel like my mission is to figure out what my mission is. Kicking off the new year I have tried to come up with a list of goals for 2012 and they are: to find a job that I am excited to go to in the morning (or at least one that I don't dread going to), read 1 book per month, save money and lastly to find a hobby that I enjoy (blogging perhaps?). I would also like to come up with a more defined life plan but right now am taking things as they come.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Krissy, I love your writing Shannie!
ReplyDeleteMy mission for 2012 encompasses finances and family. I will strive to make more, save more, love more, appreciate more, and most importantly... be the mother, wife, friend, and co-worker to be proud of.
Seize the day and never regret :)

Gina
Great idea Shannie...love this! And my mission is pretty simple...just gonna write the first two things that came to mind. I want to read and floss daily! Ha. Both are so important and I need to take the time out of my day to do both. So gotta run, need to read and floss before bedtime : )
ReplyDeleteMine is definitely MONEY. I payoff my car this year, so there is no excuse to not save more. Secondly, to get to my goal weight, and keep it off. Shan, maybe we should trade the happy hours (well the happy hours/dinners we try to plan) for walking or sweating to the oldies. Also, be more open to dating. Ugh. I cringe just typing that. 2011, was a selfish year for me, so in 2012, I want to be a better friend, sister, daughter, granddaughter, etc...
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing, Shan! I love it.
ReplyDelete2012 will be a year for me to deepen my yoga practice, possibly begin teaching some classes outside and do a lot of juicing (not the illegal kind)! I got a juicer for Christmas, so I've been making healthy concoctions in the morning daily. I love it and it makes my body feel nice and nourished! I also plan to do some simplifying around our house; in the next week, we're planning to get rid of any clothing or accessories that we didn't wear or use in 2011 and donate them to charity.
Here's to a wildly successful 2012 for all of us!
What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow. Our life is the creation of our mind. -Buddha
I love this!
ReplyDeleteMy missions
- Be smarter with my money: cooking at home, buying things on sale etc.
- Travel more to see friends and family. Since i dont have any weddings in SD this year I'll have to find some excuses :)
- not to get stressed out. This is on my list every year!
My mission is pretty simple. Although it might sound cliche, I want to be a better person. I want to treat people better and live each day with a better attitude. I carried a lot of negativity around in 2011. I want to work on building new friendships and strengthening the ones that I have. I am going to work on caring about the things in life that really matter....love, friendship and health.
